Taking IJ Somewhere New
Our journey to Cannes was more than a moment on an international stage. It was about taking what we have always believed in at IJ (our love for Indian textiles, our perspective on tradition, and our celebration of strong feminine silhouettes) and placing it in a completely new setting.
It was an opportunity to show that Indian craftsmanship can feel contemporary, global and deeply rooted at the same time.
The Goddess, Reimagined
For Cannes, we returned to one of the most powerful ideas in Indian culture: the Goddess. Not as a costume, and not as a recreation of the past, but as a feeling.
Powerful. Feminine. Unapologetic. Soft when she chooses to be, commanding when she needs to be.
We translated this spirit through the language of IJ, bringing together rich Indian textiles, sculptural forms, fluid movement and intricate details. Each silhouette was designed to create presence while allowing the character of the fabric and craftsmanship to remain at the heart of the look.
Tradition, Seen Differently
The collection reflects the way we approach Indian fashion at IJ. We don't believe tradition needs to be preserved by keeping it unchanged. Instead, we look at familiar elements through a new perspective. Playing with proportion, structure, movement and modern styling.
The result is clothing that carries the richness of where it comes from, while feeling entirely at home in a global setting.
A New Chapter for IJ
Seeing the collection come alive in Cannes was deeply personal for us. Behind that moment was everything that brought IJ here. The fabrics we fell in love with, the ideas we questioned, the traditions we chose to reinterpret, and the belief that Indian design can continue to evolve without losing its identity.
Cannes became one more chapter in that story: a moment where our world travelled somewhere new, while staying true to its roots.
